The function of the pickup is to pick up hay windrows on the ground and convey them to the feeder. The cam disc pickup features a directional roller mechanism composed of cam discs, rocker arms and rollers, and its hinged spring tine guard enables convenient replacement of spring tines. The guard-free pickup is mainly composed of a pickup drum without cam discs or spring tine guards, allowing easier replacement of spring tines and facilitating inspection and maintenance.

The forced feeding rotor compresses the materials conveyed by the pickup and feeds them into the baling chamber. A cutting knife assembly can be installed as required.
